Switzerland is undeniably one of my favorite countries in the world. Filled with emerald lakes, snow-dusted mountain ranges, wooden chalets and fields of wild flowers, it’s hard not to fall in love with this place. Home to some of the most scenic railways in the world, there is simply no better way to explore this country than by rail. Here are 30 photos that prove why you’ve got to see Switzerland by train.
Interlaken
Lauterbrunnen
Jungafrouch
Schilthorn
I had the pleasure of adventuring through Switzerland as part of a month-long journey through Europe by train. During this time, I traveled using a Global Eurail Pass, which allowed me 10 days of train travel across 28 European countries, including Switzerland. Whilst the pass does not cover tickets for the Jungfrau Top of Europe Rail and the Schilthorn Cable Cars, pass-holders are entitled to a 25% discount- which is pretty significant given the cost of these tickets!
Now, if these photos have made you want to catch the train through Switzerland… Wait till you see the video!
